A resourceful Redditor has shared a handy guide for the Kingdom Hearts Final Mix Awakening weapons and abilities that get unlocked by each one.
The guide explains that each of the three weapons provides very small stat boots for STR, DEF, and AP that you can make up for with other items later on, so this shouldn’t really be serious criteria. Dream Rod does give you one additional MP at the start, and another upgrade later on, but again, you can use other items to hit the maximum 15MP. Now, Dream Sword gives you one additional Item slot, and Dream Shield gives you two Item Slots. There is no other way in the game to get these additional Item slots.
As a Redditor has pointed out in the thread, Dream Rod and Dream Shield are the most preferable weapons. Dream Sword is a bad choice because it does not provide MP or Item slots, and Leaf Bracer and Lucky Strike are unlocked at a very late stage in the game. They come up at Levels 69 and 90, respectively. Although Second Chance does not come up for Dream Rod until Level 90, Dream Rod with Leaf Bracer (available at Level 39) will make you near invincible. Also, Dream Shield’s additions to MP are more useful than the additional item slots, but some MP restoration abilities, such as MP Haste (Level 72), and MP Rage (Level 90) also show up late.
