If you can recall to earlier this year, Nintendo held one of their Directs in which it unveiled Super Mario Maker 2. This is a sequel to the much appreciated and popular title that came out on both the Nintendo 3DS and Wii U. Now gamers can once again prepare to make new maps and challenges for others to try when it launches exclusively on the Nintendo Switch. Unfortunately, at the time of its announcement, we didn’t get a specific release date attached, but those changes now as a tweet from the official Nintendo Twitter account reveals the game will be launching in June of this year.
Super Mario Maker 2 brings back all the tools and abilities that gamers had with the original title. The developers are given everything players need to create custom Super Mario Bros. maps and over the years, there have been some pretty interesting and creative ones available on the original title for players to try. Of course, the new sequel will have a few more bells and whistles to enjoy, but it appears that we won’t have too long of a wait before we can get a copy ourselves. As it stands right now, Super Mario Maker 2 will be launching on June 28, 2019.

As previously stated, this is exclusive to the Nintendo Switch so don’t expect a copy to release on the 3DS this time around. We’re also wondering if this will come bundled with the current Nintendo Switch model. We reference the current model simply because of the rumors generating online as of late indicate that Nintendo may have a few models coming that will either enhance the system for gamers or come at a discount, losing some of the base features the Nintendo Switch originally has available.
These Nintendo Switch models are purely rumored right now and we expect to find out their legitimacy during this year’s E3 Nintendo Direct. At any rate, will you be picking up a copy of Super Mario Maker 2? Let us know by leaving a comment down below.
