New Rumors Detail What To Expect With Upcoming Nintendo Switch Models

March 27, 2019 by Dennis Patrick

A cheaper version along with a gamer edition inbound?

There’s been quite a bit of chatter online these past few days in regards to the Nintendo Switch. As it turns out, the rumors are pointing towards a bigger revision coming to the Nintendo Switch which will break the units off into two different units.  As previously reported, the rumor suggested that the Nintendo Switch will come in two different versions, one that would be marked down in price along with a more premium model aimed at the hardcore gamer. However, these are purely rumors at the moment as Nintendo have yet to make any official statement on the matter.

Regardless, the rumors are starting to spread even more as new sources spoke with Eurogamer and chimed in on what Nintendo is doing with these two models. As it stands, the cheaper model will be the unit to replace the Nintendo 3DS handheld. This model will apparently be cheaper by limiting the functions available such as being a hand held only and it will lose the rumble feature. We imagine the Joy-Cons will not be removable as well and the whole overall unit will likely be a bit beefier to help protect it for younger gamers.

The other side of the coin is a premium model that is aimed at gamers. Not too many details were given apparently by the Eurogamer sources, but it will likely tweak the components to give a slight jump in performance. We’re doubtful if it will be enough to sway current Nintendo Switch owners to make the jump for an upgrade.

Again, these are rumors at the moment and we don’t have any official statements from Nintendo to share. If these rumors prove to be true then we imagine that Nintendo will be saving the announcement for their E3 Nintendo Direct upload.
