Konami has received a lot of flack lately, I mean a lot of flack. This development studio has gone through the wringer and its safe to say that they have caused quite a bit of it. At one point, the development studio was well known all over the world for its incredible video game releases but that reception is certainly gone today with gamers upset over the recent choices the studio has made. With that said, the company still stands and it’s nearing the big 50th anniversary which is certainly some feat for a development studio to hit and as a result, there’s a good chance the studio may get a bit sentimental.
A new listing from the Australian Classification has revealed that the studio may have an arcade compilation title in the works. The title listed is known as the 50th Anniversary: Arcade Classics which sounds like it will include a number of the classic beat em ups that the studio was known for. However, nothing official has been stated from the company quite yet. We do imagine that there will be some sort of a release coming from the studio and if the company looks back, maybe we’ll see some new installment announcements for past franchises such as Silent Hill or Castlevania. Regardless, it’s clear that Konami has plenty of work ahead of them to mend the wounds created for gamers.
While we wait to see if Konami makes an official announcement of its anniversary this year, we want to hear from you. Is Konami too far gone to come out ahead in today’s video game market? Or, do you believe that Konami could be redeemed and provide more excitement and joy that they once delivered years ago? Either way, we want to hear from you guys so definitely feel free to leave a comment and let your voice be heard.
