Trials Rising: How To Earn A Diamond Medal | ‘Oh No, Too Shiny!’ Guide

February 28, 2019 by Kevin Thielenhaus

Earning a Diamond Medal in Trials Rising is very, very difficult. Here’s the easiest possible way to get one.

In Trials Rising, there are normally three medals you can unlock — bronze, silver, and gold. If you manage to complete a race with an insanely optimized time, you’ll earn a hidden platinum medal. Trials Rising pushes the challenge even further with the diamond medal.

To earn one of these babies, you’ll have to get a perfect run on a track. It’s incredibly difficult. Even the best players in the game can’t manage to earn these things. As of this righting, only about .00002% of players have earned a Diamond medal on regular race tracks.

To get a diamond on a standard track, you’re going to have to be perfect. Luckily, if you’re aiming to earn the ‘Oh No, Too Shiny!’ secret achievement / trophy, you don’t need to actually complete a standard track. There’s an easier way.

How To Earn A Diamond Medal | ‘Oh No, Too Shiny!’ Guide

Diamond Medals are so rare and secret, you might not even realize they exist. There are two achievements / trophies you can earn by collecting rare medals — ‘Oh, So Shiny!’ for Platinum, and ‘Oh No, Too Shiny!’ for Diamond.

The easiest way to earn an Diamond Medal is through one of the Skill Games.

  • Open the Skill Game Festival menu.
  • Play the ‘Power Bike‘ game.
    • To get a Diamond Medal, you need to reach 950 meters.

This skill game is unlocked at Level 63. In this skill game, you’re given a limited amount of fuel, and you must travel as far as possible on your limited fuel supply. The trick is simple — avoid using fuel, and use the slopes to give yourself momentum. Lean forward and backward to slowly ease over each hill and roll down to gain the most speed without wasting fuel.

The “fuel” gives you a lot of push. It launches a plume of flame that will launch you, even if your wheels aren’t touching the ground. Gently tap the power and only uses thrusts in quick bursts. There’s never any need to hold down the power.

Break when going up the slopes to make sure you’re gently going down the ramps — the more traction you can get, the more your wheels are touching the ground when you’re going down a ramp, the more momentum you’ll gain. Also, try to avoid using fuel when you’re sliding backwards. Throttle when you’re slowing down. Don’t let yourself completely stop when moving up a ramp.

Thankfully, you do not have to be perfect to complete this track and get a Diamond. You can screw up plenty and still succeed. It will take practice, but this is easily the best way to earn a Diamond. For most of us, it might be the only way.
