August 27, 2013 by Stephen Daly

Microsoft GOTY edition in is the works.

Microsoft has announced a Game of the Year edition of Halo 4 which will include DLC maps and so on.

In a statement to IGN a spokesperson said: "A Game of the Year Edition of Halo 4 will be offered this October, offering tremendous value for fans who want to enjoy one of the most critically acclaimed games of 2012, and additional DLC all in one place. We will have more details to share during the live stream of the Halo Global Championship Finals this Sunday."

The GOTY version of 343's title is said to include Spartan Ops: Season 1, War Games Map Pass, Halo 4 Champions Bundle, pre-order and limited collector's edition content but Microsoft has not yet officially confirmed this.

The total value of the package is said to be $80 but you can expect it to retail for significantly less than that. Halo 4 is the first game in the Reclaimer Saga. A sequel was announced at E3 but details have yet to be confirmed.
