One of the ways that Epic Games is looking to bring gamers onto their digital marketplace client is by offering free video game titles. Epic Games have already offered two video game titles completely for free and today we’re finding out that the third main title to be included in the mix is What Remains of Edith Finch, a narrative journey which you can embark on completely for free through the Epic Games Store. If you don’t already have Epic Games Store on your PC then chances are you will soon.
Epic Games Store has been giving some stiff competition to Valve’s Steam marketplace. Not only does it offer a similar experience, but it’s giving developers a reason to make their games exclusive to the Epic Games Store marketplace. Mainly because of the profits developers would earn from the sales at nearly 90% which is a step up from Valve’s offer of nearly 80%. Because of this alone, there could be more PC exclusives heading to the marketplace, but that doesn’t appear to be the only reason gamers may be downloading the free client. As mentioned earlier, one way to bring in more users is through the means of offering free video game titles.
This will be an ongoing feature for Epic Games Store as every couple weeks a new title will be featured for players to download completely for free. Originally, Epic Games Store offered Subnautica as the free game before it was changed over to Super Meat Boy. Now gamers can get a free download copy of What Remains of Edith Finch. This offer will be available on the store until January 24, 2019, in which the game will be available for purchase.
There’s no downside right now to download and make a free account as you can beef up your collection of video game titles to enjoy. Now we can wait and see just what free video game title will be added next.
