New FIFA 19 Title Update Brings Improvements to the Online Network Connection

December 19, 2018 by Jordan Biazzo

Hopefully, this helps the online gameplay!

update

EA has announced and detailed the latest update for their soccer title, FIFA 19.

The newest update brings changes and fixes to the online department of the game. If you have ever played an online match in a FIFA title, a major key in the gameplay is the smoothness. The minute lag or stutter starts getting in the way, the online match could go right out the window.

EA has been listening and working effortlessly to help make a more consistent online experience for FIFA 19 users. The latest changes to the game, hopefully, fixes the majority of the communities problems. The patch is now available on PC, while PS4 and Xbox One users are set for the near future.

Check out the set of changes down below:

Made the following changes:

  • Some improvements to the responsiveness of gameplay in situations where your opponent’s network connection may be experiencing packet loss or high latency.
    • This change applies to the following game modes:
      • FUT Champions
      • FUT Division Rivals
      • FUT Online Draft
      • FIFA Pro Clubs
      • FIFA Co-Op Seasons

This week’s change should improve the responsiveness of gameplay for many online matches. We identified an issue where overall gameplay responsiveness in online matches could be negatively impacted by one player’s poor network connection, which was not intended. So moving forward, gameplay responsiveness should rely on each player’s individual connection, and not those they are playing with or against.

The result should be a much more consistent experience in gameplay responsiveness online, depending on the networking set-up you have.

We know that issues in this area of the game can be extremely frustrating and that is never the experience we want players to have. As with any online multiplayer game, there are a number of factors that contribute to overall gameplay responsiveness when playing online; some of these are in our direct control, and others are not. We are working to identify and solve any problems in our control right now, and there will be continued investigation and communication around any additional changes. We are dedicated to improving player experiences in this space.

Thanks,
The FIFA Dev Team

FIFA 19 is now available for PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
