The one true Hado!

Andy Wong Community Manager at Capcom took to the PlayStation Blog to announce that Kage is set to release on December 16 for their latest fighting title, Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition.

Kage is the latest character to join the already filled roster. Due to Kage’s ties to Ryu and Evil Ryu, he comes stacked with moves that Ryu fans might know such as the Hadoken and Shoryuken. Kage is set to release on December 16 and will retail for $5.99 or 100,000 in-game fight money.

Check out the new announcement trailer down below:

Andy Wong went into a little more detail about Kage, giviing a brief overview of his backstory and his ties to Ryu. If you want to, check it out down below:

Kage, meaning “shadow” in Japanese, is the physical embodiment of the Satsui no Hado, an evil force rooted in humanity’s obsession with power. Those who have control over this force, like Akuma, carry immense strength, but at the cost of their humanity. Ryu is one such being who knows the Satsui no Hado exists within him and has been struggling to keep it at bay.

Hypothetically, if Ryu let the Satsui no Hado consume him, the being known as Evil Ryu takes over and begins a path of destruction. However, after the events of Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition, Ryu has been able to overcome the Satsui no Hado’s influence and be at peace…until the force decides to have a mind of its own. Kage rises in order to prove to Ryu that his true power comes from the Satsui no Hado.

Wong also notes that five characters have been given new moves. The new moveset had been granted to F.A.N.G, Vega, Chun-Li, Abigail, and M. Bison; make sure to check them out in training mode before playing again!

Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition is now available for PS4 and PC. Are you planning on picking up Kage? Let us know in the comments below!
