The UK video game market is on fire, or it may be more accurate to say continues to be on fire, as reported by MCV. Since July did not have that many new software releases, it was expected to be a bad month, but it turned out even worse than expected. MCV cites the unusually hot weather as a surprising reason for gamers to stay at home instead of going out to get games in shops.
Of the Top 50 games for the month, only three were new games:Mario and Luigi: Dream Team, Pikmin 3, which debuted in Uk at number 2, and Dynasty Warriors 8. Sony did report good news with continuing good performance of The Last Of Us, the month's top seller and currently the 2nd best seller of the year. Nintendo also reported they were happy with the performance of the 3DS.
