Rayman Legends Adding PC to Long List of Platforms

July 25, 2013 by Josiah Renaudin

Rayman Legends will pretty much launch on any game-playing device you own.

Let’s just cut to the chase: Rayman Legends is going to release on every platform that’s ever been sold in a semi-legitimate retailer. That means the Dreamcast, Atari Jaguar, and N-Gage will all be able to run Ubisoft’s upcoming platformer.

Even though none of that is true, it has been confirmed that Rayman Legends will now become available on the PC alongside the many other announced platforms, including the Wii U, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PlayStation Vita. This news comes from publisher Ubisoft, which also confirmed that anyone who pre-orders the game via the UbiShop will get the original full version of Rayman Origins on PC for free.

It seems like we’ve been talking about Rayman Legends for decades. The game began its long development journey as one of the most anticipated Wii U-exclusive projects out there, but due to the slow start for Nitnendo’s console, Ubisoft decided to push the release date and expand its availability. The game’s delay didn’t exactly sit well with the development team putting in the long hours, as the beautiful platformer was all but done when the publisher announced the PS3 and Xbox 360 ports. The issues series creator Michel Ancel had with decisions being made were well documented, even if the protests made by him and his team at Ubisoft Montpellier were the result of a "misunderstanding."

We’ll soon be able to put all these stories behind us, as Rayman Legends is almost here. Look to pick up the game on your platform of choice Sept. 3.
