It became quite the shock to find that Telltale Games was closing its doors for good. This came right before the launch of the second episode of their The Walking Dead: The Final Season video game. While it was confirmed that several of their video game installments in the works such as The Wolf Among Us and Game of Thrones season two games were cancelled, it was uncertain what the future of The Walking Dead.
Arguably the biggest video game franchise released under Telltale Games was The Walking Dead where the majority of the video game narratives focused on the story of a young girl named Clementine who grew up in the zombie pandemic. This latest season was set to be the final story for Clementine where after four episodes, gamers who have been actively playing the games for a number of years now would witness the conclusion of the character.
As mentioned, with Telltale Games closing its doors, there was no word on if we would actually get that conclusion. We last heard that Telltale Games had been approached by other development studios to help produce the final episodes for gamers but there hasn’t been any update. Now with the New York Comic Con going on, Robert Kirkman, the creator of The Walking Dead, answered a question regarding if we would see the famed comic book author bring in Clementine into the series in order to tie up the Clementine storyline.
During a panel, Robert Kirkman made note that things are in the works and that everyone involved is working to make sure Clementine’s story is told. So at the moment, it doesn’t look like Robert Kirkman will be writing Clementine into his comic book storyline.
