MechWarrior Online Honors 5-Year Old Cancer Victim with Charitable Sale of Mech

July 23, 2013 by Andrea Castellano

All proceeds of Sarah Parries’ Mech go towards the Canadian Cancer Society.

In honor of Sarah Parries – an unfortunate cancer victim and huge MechWarrior Online fan – Piranha Games and Infinite Game Publishing created the Jenner JR7-D(S) Mech.

All proceeds from the sale of the in-game $10USD Mech will go towards the Canadian Cancer Society. After third party fees and sales taxes, which accounts for about 4% of every Mech sold, all money earned will go straight towards the cancer research.

The five year old Vancouver girl played alongside her father as they piloted her favourite Mech, the Jenner. She loved the Jenner's fast movement, lock on capabilities and night vision. For those looking to participate and donate through the purchase of the Mech, Piranha Games dedicated a page to Sarah, tracking the proceeds collected and detailing the statistics of the JR7-D(S).

MechWarrior Online stills remains in an open beta stage until the release later this year.
