Shadowrun Returns, the Kickstarter funded project, will launch next week to make its return after the 2007 first-person shooter.
Instead of multiplayer only first-person shooting, Shadowrun Returns will draw from its RPG roots for some top-down strategic gameplay. Set in the year 2054, players will again form a team of Humans, Orcs and other races to tactically eliminate any opposing enemies.
Classes like the Mage, Decker and Adepts, all provide unique abilities and bonuses great for specific situations. Like the first-person shooter, forming a balanced team of damage dealers and support classes will make a successful push more possible.
With the lack of cyberpunk video games, Shadowrun Returns, if successful, could begin a line of further iterations of games in the same setting.
Shadowrun Returns will launch on July 25th for Steam users for $19.99. If you backed the Kickstater project and pledged $15 or more, you will receive a copy of Shadowrun Returns.
