The Bureau: XCOM Declassified Trailer Tries to Hide the Truth

July 17, 2013 by Andrea Castellano

The Bureau: XCOM Declassified gameplay showing the strategy elements in combat.

In an attempt to keep the alien invasion hidden away from the public, the government selects you to eliminate any traces of extra terrestrial life forms.

As the camera zooms down from the overhead perspective found in XCOM: Enemy Unknown, the game jumps straight into the perspective of the solider where the player brings forth a radial menu to pause the action.

Combining both third-person shooting and tactical placements of equipment, players will eliminate the invaders with a shared assault of multiple weapons. To not stray away from the XCOM strategy roots, players can provide orders to individual squad members to execute certain abilities or use equipment.

Based on the gameplay trailer, the combat of The Bureau looks very similar to that of Dragon Age, where players must strategically place their entire party while also performing actions in real-time.

The Bureau: XCOM Declassified will release on August 20th for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC.
