None of the flashy graphics and slick animations will seem real until a next-generation console is finally sitting pretty below your TV. Both the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One are looking to bring the community into a much more technologically capable era of gaming, and according to the producer of Dead Rising 3, what Microsoft has accomplished with its hardware is like nothing we’ve ever seen before.
Speaking with the Xbox team, Dead Rising 3 executive producer Josh Bridge explained what the studio has been able to accomplish with the undead title thanks to the new power of the Xbox One.
“I hope everyone can see what we’ve been able to do with the Xbox One. The sheer amount of zombies, still in this rich open world, is always streaming,” Bridge explained. “The amount of detail that’s flying by – we’ve never seen anything like it before.”
Along with Kinect integration, Xbox One owners will also be able to take advantage of the game’s SmartGlass capabilities.
"SmartGlass is a way to have a hand in the game in a way you might not be able to do with your joystick alone," Bridge continued. "Press a button, call in some air-strikes and go boom." He also had some words of advice to give players exploring DR3's vast, open world. "You can go everywhere. You can go into stores, bust into a house. Look and you'll find more powerful items to play with and survive."
It’s a tall order for a launch title, but it sounds like the developers are truly excited for the future of Dead Rising 3.
