Fortnite has become an immensely popular video game title that’s been available on the major current generation platforms. However, for those that wish to enjoy the game portability outside of the Nintendo Switch and laptop then your only option has been on the iOS platform. This platform had allowed players to enjoy a port of the game developed to be used with touchscreen controls.

Now finally the wait is coming to an end for Android users. There’s been some uncertainty on when we could finally get the free download on the Android platform and now today we’re finding out that Fortnite will first be available on Samsung devices.

During a Samsung press conference today it was unveiled that a beta for Samsung only devices will start today which will be supported on Samsung Galaxy S7 through the S9 plus. This won’t be a long beta exclusivity for Samsung however as the beta will open up for other devices after August 12, 2018.

With that said, if you’re looking for the game on the Google Play Store then you’re going to be out of luck. Instead of going through the Google Play Store avenue, Epic Games will be distributing the game directly from the Fortnite website.

There’s also even a special skin for those who purchase the Samsung Note 9 or Galaxy Tab S4.

Much like the iOS platform, gamers interested in the beta will have to sign-up to be invited. Currently, there doesn’t seem to be any indication as to when the game will leave beta.
