Rise of the Triad Re-Imagines Original Soundtrack

June 25, 2013 by Andrea Castellano

Rise of the Triad will receive an entire overhaul of the original soundtrack.

Rise of the Triad, which originally released in 1995, will tackle the original soundtrack to better suit the graphical overhaul for the revival of the original title.

The original soundtrack, first composed by Lee Jackson, saw its revision by lead by Andrew Hulshult who wanted to keep the spirit of the original tracks while also infusing a hardcore metal theme. To hear the revisions for notable tracks such as "Going Down the Fast Way" and "Havana Smooth," Andrew wrote a blog post discussing his experience making the tracks where he included a few samples of the game's music.

Conveniently enough, Lee Jackson rejoined the team to assist in the revision of the soundtrack. He would act as a mentor for Andrew Hulshult whenever he needed some guidance. To hear Lee Jackson and Andrew Hulshult discuss the role of music in video games and how it changed over time, you can find an hour long podcast on YouTube here.

With the release of this new video, you can listen to the new track revision for "Mist Ache" on Soundcloud.

The Rise of the Triad remake will launch sometime this summer on Steam and GOG.com for $14.99.
