Warner Bros. Batman: Arkham Origins Will Change People’s Minds

June 18, 2013 by Stephen Daly

Game’s creative director says Origins has ‘a great story’.

Eric Holmes, the creative director on Batman: Arkham Origins, has said people "have the right to be cynical" of the game as it is the first in series not being developed by Rocksteady but that once they get their hands on it they'll change their minds.

"I would say that people have the right to be cynical; they have the option to be cynical," Holmes informed GameSpot. "Come and play the game at one of these events where we bring the game. And I think as soon as you've got the pad in your hand, you're going to see that this game is authentic and uses the same underpinnings and core mechanics of the previous Arkham games."

For those unable to attend one of these events the game is set to be released on October 25th for PS3, PC. Wii U and Xbox 360. A demo for Origins has not yet been announced.

Holmes believes Warner Bros. Montreal is crafting "a great story… I can't tell you much about… but I can tell you I'm really excited about our story. I think it's a very important Batman story and I think fans are going to love that probably more than any other thing in the game."

Holmes has previously said "we're standing on the shoulders of giants" when talking about taking over the series from Rocksteady. You can catch 30 minutes of gameplay footage from E3 last week here.

Arkham Origins: Blacklight, a spin-off for 3DS and Vita, is also set to be released on October 25th.
