Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment showcased 30 minutes of gameplay footage of their upcoming Batman game, Arkham Origins. The footage was a part of the on-going E3 livestream.
The developers also revealed some previously undisclosed information about the game, stating that Arkham Origins is set five years before the events of the first Arkham game, Arkham Asylum, and follows the career of Batman just two years in.
Being relatively inexperienced and new as he is, Batman has already made an impact on the criminal underworld and earned himself the ire of Black Mask, who's decided to put out a hit on his head and summoning eight notorious assassins to take him down.
It's Christmas Eve, and Batman must do what he can to survive the encounters while working his way to the top and figuring out why Black Mask wants him dead.
Arkham Origins is the first game in the series to not be developed by Rocksteady Games. It's slated for an October 25 release on current-gen titles, and is set to be released alongside a spin-off title, Blackgate, for the Vita and 3DS.
The video was released alongside a host of screenshots, which you can see below.
