Lone Survivor for PS3 and Vita Gets New Content and Extra Endings

June 13, 2013 by Jordan Erica Webber

More items, more locations, more side-quests, and more.

We learned at the end of last year that Lone Survivor would be making its way to the PS3 and Vita, in a blog post in which creator Jasper Byrne also announced that he was ending work on a dungeon crawler he'd been working on called NEW GAME+. What we didn't know at the time was what Jason Perkins (the CEO of Curve Digital, the studio that is working porting the PC game to these new platforms) announced today on the PlayStation blog: the PS3 and Vita version of the game will feature a whole bunch of extra content.

Of course, some of that extra content comes in the form of Trophies, as well as Cross-Buy and Cross-Play support. Cross-Buy obviously means that those who buy a copy on the PS3, for instance, will also get a Vita copy for free, but the blog post doesn't mention what Cross-Play will involve.

The rest of the content is the result of six months' work from Byrne. According to Perkins, that list includes: “more than twenty new items, several new locations, new side-quests, new dialogue for all characters, several new pieces of music, a brand new movie-like lighting system and new flashlight effects, and even two completely new endings.” I spoke to a rep from Curve Digital at EToo on Monday, and he said that Byrne was happy to have the opportunity to add more to the game. Those who've played the game already should be particularly pleased to learn that the game will get an extended soundtrack, but will the additional endings be enough to encourage a replay?
