Indie Game Ray’s the Dead Headed to PS4

June 13, 2013 by Stephen Daly

It’s like Murdered: Soul Suspect but with zombies.

Yet another indie game is headed to a PlayStation platform with Ray's the Dead announced for PS4 on the PlayStation Blog from Chicago based developer Ragtag Games.

The game is described as "an action adventure game where you are the leader of a zombie army. We are excited to announce that Ray's the Dead will be available as a downloadable title on PlayStation 4!"

Players are cast as Raymond La Morte who must travel around suburban America in this "'80s-inspired romp" in which you'll experience some of the events leading up Ray's death as he tries to unravel how he died, who killed him and why he has a light bulb sticking out of his head.

Studio co-founder Chris Cobb says the decision to launch on PS4 was an easy one "Ray's the Dead has been a labour of love for the three of us at Ragtag, and we are thrilled out of our brains to be bringing it to PS4. With Sony's focus on releasing games that deliver unique and refreshing experiences, PS4 became the natural choice for our game."

Transistor, from Bastion creator Supergiant Games, will be a PS4 console exclusive while indie games will also be available as part of the PlayStation Plus Instant Game Collection on PS4. Indie studios can self-publish on PS4 which is something they cannot currently do on Xbox One.
