Missed out on Microsoft’s press conference this year? Don’t worry, here’s a complete recap of everything that was announced!
Halo Infinite
343 Industries unveiled their next big upcoming Halo title known as Halo Infinite. This was just a small teaser video reveal at the moment so don’t get too excited. All the fine details for the game are still being held as a secret at the moment. However, we did get some new scenery footage along with a brief glimpse of Master Chief so we’ll definitely keep close tabs on this game to see just where the story or gameplay will take players.
Battletoads
The classic beat-em-up video game franchise, Battletoads is back. This is described to be a three-player local co-op game with 4K hand-drawn visuals. Unfortunately, there was no trailer showcasing gameplay at the conference, but players can expect the title to launch sometime in 2019.
Cuphead
Cuphead is getting a new expansion. The platformer that focused on boss fights is making a return in 2019 with The Delicious Last Course. Not only will there be new bosses and gameplay to enjoy but developers are also tossing in a brand new playable character known as Ms. Chalice. For now, we’re unsure just what the DLC will run but players price wise but we can expect the expansion to launch in Spring of 2019.
Tales of Vesperia: Definitive Edition
Tales of Vesperia first launched in 2008 for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 platforms. Now, ten years later the game will be receiving a new edition for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch. Outside of the overhaul visuals, Tales of Vesperia: Definitive Edition will receive new content and characters that have never made its way to the West before.
Cyberpunk 2077
Cyberpunk 2077 was the last reveal for Microsoft at the press conference. CD Projekt Red showcased a brand new trailer which highlighted the city and people within the game. Surprisingly, this is a very bright and colorful video game which is a drastic turnaround from the first teaser unveil. While we don’t know anything new nor did the trailer showcase any gameplay, Cyberpunk 2077 does seem to offer an interesting world filled with corruption, androids, and humans that are looking to make ends meet. Furthermore, being that the game is under the development team who has brought out The Witcher series, I think this title is going to build up plenty of hype before it hits store shelves.
Just Cause 4
Just Cause 4 has been revealed where the trailer features Rico Rodriguez going against a slew of enemies with fast-paced and bullet-filled action-pack sequences. While each installment seems to top the other with just how much mayhem players will be going through, we can expect that the slew of gadgets and tools we’ve seen in Just Cause 3 to make a return along with whatever new creations the developers has thought up for this thrilling installment.
Devil May Cry V
Devil May Cry is back with a brand new fifth main installment. The unveiling came with Hideaki Itsuno, the director of Devil May Cry 3 who has promised a fun hack-and-slash action-packed journey that fans have been craving since the release of Devil May Cry 4. What we know about the game so far is that years have passed since hell’s creatures had stepped foot on the world but now a new demonic invasion has begun. The game should be released within Spring of 2019.
Dying Light 2
Dying Light 2 has been confirmed where the game is set in the zombie apocalypse once again. Now only small cities are available for sanctuary but civilians are left to deal with strict rules and structures placed by factions that control the area. Apparently, players will have the ability to make choices that will drastically change the narrative. Gameplay looks to remain the same from the past installment with parkour elements and stronger zombie threats during nightfall.
Nier: Automata: Become as Gods Edition
Nier: Automata was an instant hit when it first released into the market and now Microsoft Xbox One fans can soon enjoy the game. This Become as Gods Edition will be releasing for the Xbox One on June 26, 2018, and with it, players can enjoy all the previously released DLC.
Fallout 76
Fallout 76 was a highlight in Microsoft’s press conference and with Bethesda’s Todd Howard presenting the game, we know that the title will be set before all the previous Fallout titles. One of the biggest racing series for Microsoft, Forza Horizon, is receiving a new installment this year. The Forza Horizon 4 trailer showcased racing across a wide range of weathered environments though outside of just cars, players will apparently be able to enjoy off-road vehicles and motorcycles. The title is slated to launch on October 2, 2018, so we don’t have to wait too awful long before we can get our hands on this particular game.
Gears of War
Three Gears of War based titles were unveiled at Microsoft which ranges from a new tactical strategy title to the latest main installment. Gears Tactics is a new tactical style game that is set to take place prior to the events of the first Gears of War title where humanity is fighting back against the locust horde.
A Gears of War mobile title is also in the works but it seems to be lighthearted as the game will be partnered up with Funko Pop and while the unveiling didn’t come with any gameplay trailer or details, the game will apparently come to both iOS and Android devices in 2019.
Lastly, Gears of War 5 received its first trailer that centered around Kait Diaz who feels that she has a purpose she must deal with. Though what that purpose is remains to be seen but we do know that Kait will be battling a tough journey that may question loyalty.
Tunic
Microsoft may not have The Legend of Zelda franchise, but Tunic is a clone that is quickly gaining attention. Within the game, players take control of a small fox that must explore the world and battle against other creatures. Most refer the gameplay to be similar to the original Zelda titles though there has been no release date attached to the project quite yet.
Jump Force
Bandai Namco has a new fighting title in the works known as Jump Force. This is fighting game that will host a number of anime fan favorite characters. For instance, within the trailer showcased, the fighting game centered around a battle between Naruto, Dragon Ball, One Piece and Death Note franchises. The game is slated to launch in 2019, though we’re waiting to see if the storyline with this title will pin these franchises against each other or if they will band together and fight off an evil force.
Kingdom Hearts 3
Kingdom Hearts is no longer just a Sony PlayStation exclusive as the third installment is confirmed to release on the Microsoft Xbox One as well. We’ve received a cinematic trailer where Sora meets with the characters from Frozen. New details regarding the game are likely to come during Square Enix’s press conference, but with the title slated to launch on Xbox One and PlayStation 4 within January of next year, we’re curious as to if a PC port of the game is also in the works.
The Awesome Adventures of Captain Spirit
Life is Strange fans can rejoice as a new installment is coming. However, this isn’t the sequel that fans may have hoped for but instead will take place prior to the events of Life is Strange 2. The Awesome Adventures of Captain Spirit showcases a young boy who is left with a single parent. From what we can tell about the trailer showcased, the game will center around the boy’s imagination as he pictures himself as a hero fighting off evil within the world. Apparently, this is a free game coming later this month that will help flesh out the story for the upcoming sequel to Life is Strange.
Metro Exodus
Metro Exodus was originally slated to release in 2018 but has since been delayed until 2019. Today at the press conference, new footage was unveiled showing off the world players will be exploring. As you can expect, there is plenty of hostile creatures that lurk about followed by a bit of gunplay as you progress through the journey. We’re also given the release date for the game as players can expect the title to launch on February 22, 2019.

That wasn’t all, there is another map set to be in a winter weather environment slated to launch in Winter of this year.

If you enjoyed The Division then get ready to suit up and prepare for another battle with the upcoming sequel. This is a direct sequel to the first title where only a few months have passed, however, it seems now that the enemy is centered on government corruption.
