Capcom Unveils Dragon’s Dogma Quest for Japanese Vita Owners

June 6, 2013 by Andrea Castellano

Dragon’s Dogma Quest will feature 150 jobs and will launch as a free-to-play, 2D Online RPG.

Much like the details that came from the Japanese gaming magazine, Famitsu, Dragon's Dogma Quest will launch as a 2D, online only RPG and will stay within the Dragon's Dogma universe.

As you play the hero whose heart unfortunately was taken by a dragon, you run into Lota, a staff wielding woman who too lost her heart to the dragon. Missing a core bodily function, you both adventure out to retrieve what belongs to you.

Pawns, your computer controlled companions, will make their return to Dragon's Dogma Quest and you can now employ up to 8 pawns – four of your own and four from your friends. Of the available 150 jobs mentioned in the Famitsu article, new jobs such as the Arc Guardian, Poison Enchanter and Gatherer can strengthen your pawns to assist on your adventure. With so many jobs to select, the handful revealed today only represents a small portion of the potential 150.

Details regarding the combat still remain unclear, but the Famitsu article indicated that players will need to consider the appearance of their opponents to determine the approach of the fight.

As for an American release, a Capcom spokesperson clarified to Joystiq that, "At present Dragon's Dogma Quest is only confirmed for release in Japan and we are currently evaluating if the title will be released in pan-western markets."

Dragon's Dogma Quest will launch for free this fall for Japanese Vita owners with a microtransactions model.
