Avalanche Studios Co-Founder: ‘No one’s complaining about not being able to trade iOS games’

The co-founder of Avalanche argues that the end of used games will usher in a new age of cheaper games.

The ability to trade games is kind of a big deal to gamers, especially those with little disposable income. As such, news that the Xbox One will prevent players from being able to trade in their games as they do at the present comes as a major disappointment to gamers.

However, not everyone agrees that being able to trade games is a big deal. Avalanche Studios' cofounder and CTO Linus Blomberg argues economies in games are changing and that not being able to trade games may result in cheaper games.

Blomberg stated (via Gamingbolt), “The economies in games are changing; they have to in order to be sustainable. No one’s complaining about not being able to trade iOS games. Naturally that’s because they are much cheaper, but if second hand games contributed to the income of AAA game developers, then they could become cheaper too.

“In the end I think it will come down to how big that fee is.”
