For DC Universe Online PS3 players and people interested in playing the PC only Planetside 2, in a report from IGN, Sony Online Entertainment will put both games on the PlayStation 4 this year.
DC Universe Online players can carry over their characters to the new platform to hopefully play with better graphics and smoother performance without losing any characters created with heavy investment.
As for Planetside 2 players, the lack of information does not confirm or deny if Planetside 2 on PS4 will stay compatible with PC accounts and if cross-platform play proves a possibility.
The possibility of a PS4 Planetside 2 release came into question after the E3Insider website supposedly listed all of the games to show during the Sony E3 press conference. The website posting later received some modifications that removed Planetside 2 from the list.
But in the line-up of E3 games, Planetside 2 came listed as a PS3 title with no mention of DC Unvierse Online. However, a video in the IGN post clearly indicates a PlayStation 4 release, even going as far to promote the hashtag '#PS2ONPS4'.
Sony Online Entertainment did not specify a date for the releases of both online games and instead just mentioned free-to-play, digital releases available later this year.
