Dragon’s Dogma Quest lands on Vita as a 2D Online RPG

June 5, 2013 by Andrea Castellano

Dragon’s Dogma Quest will offer over 150 different character classes.

For Japanese PlayStation Vita owners, the most recent issue of Famitsu – a Japanese video game magazine – said Dragon's Dogma Quest will launch this fall as a free-to-play online-only RPG.

By evaluating your enemy's appearance, in Dragon's Dogma Quest players will need to strategize more than pay attention to action. Much like the full 3D release, Dragon's Dogma Quest will allow players to explore villages, dungeons and complete a variety of quests.

To tackle the dungeons and enemy encounters, you form a party of up to 4 pawns and even combine your party with a friend's party. Combining the two parties means that you can explore and complete quests with a group up to 8 characters. As the Arisen, you will control your party by issuing commands.

Each of the pawns can adopt their own specific job or class, which Famitsu claims will provide over 150 to choose from. Since the game will launch as a free-to-play title, Dragon's Dogma Quest will feature microtransactions. The Famitsu report does not specify what the microtransactions will involve except that they will benefit those with little time to play.

The news comes from a Japanese gaming magazine, so a North American and European release still remains in the hands of Capcom.
