According to listings on the Steam database as well as AMD patch notes it appears that a new entry in the Legacy of Kain series could be in the works.
Based on the entries it appears that the game will be called War for Nosgoth. The latest change to the Steam database entry was made today, May 27th, possibly hinting at a reveal at or around E3 next month. Meanwhile, the phrases 'Nosgoth' and 'War for Nosgoth' are mentioned in patch files for an AMD driver.
As Superannuation discovered in February, Eidos Montreal has registered WarForNosgoth.com. According to the LinkedIn profils on one audio composer Square Enix may be handing development to indie studio Psyonix, at least for part of the game's production. Psyonix has previously collaborated on Bulletstorm, Gears of War and Homefront.
Legacy of Kain was first released on the first PlayStation in 1996 and was developed by Silicon Knights. There have been five games in the series including Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain, Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver, Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver 2 and Legacy of Kain: Defiance. Defiance, the latest entry in the series, was released in 2003 and was developed by Tomb Raider studio Crystal Dynamics.
While the Steam listing makes a PC appearance a high probability it's unclear whether the game will be coming to consoles and, if so, whether it will be developed for current or next-gen systems, or both.
