May 21, 2013 by Stephen Daly

Concept art for the title has emerged.

Resident Evil: Operation Racoon City developer Slant Six was at one point making a Medal of Honor title for PlayStation Vita Superannuation has revealed along with concept art for the title.

The developer who posted the concept art worked for the Vancouver based studio between 2006 and 2009 according to his LinkedIn profile. The PlayStation Vita was launched in Japan in December 2011 and worldwide in February 2012.

Medal of Honor was rebooted by Danger Close in 2010 however following the poor critical and commercial reaction to 2012's Medal of Honor: Warfighter the series was put on hold in January.

When EA put the franchise on hiatus the publisher commented "We recognise and appreciate the value of the franchise. We're going to give Medal of Honor a rest while we plan its return. We haven't made any decision on how or when it will return."

It's unclear when the decision to cancel the Vita entry in the series was made.

While Medal of Honor may not be coming to Sony's handheld Freedom Wars was confirmed earlier today as a PS Vita exclusive. Shooter fans can also look forward to Killzone: Mercenary which is set to be released in early September.
