This E3 is going to be big. The next-generation of hardware is just around the corner, and while we haven’t yet seen too much in terms of launch titles, the Los Angeles show is where we expect to finally get our hands and eyes on the future of gaming. However, while we should all be shaking in our boots with excitement, there are some big-budget games that won’t be able to make it out. One of the most high profile of the bunch is Grand Theft Auto 5.
Along with the open-world game’s absence, The Bureau: XCOM Declassified, WWE 2K14, and all of the other publisher’s games won’t be available, as both Take-Two labels Rockstar and 2K Games aren’t going to have any sort of public showing.
"I'd now like to take a moment to discuss the upcoming E3 show in Los Angeles. This year, our labels will not have a booth on the show floor,” Take-Two president Karl Slatoff said during the earnings call (via Seeking Alpha).
There will be members of the team ready and waiting to discuss all the exciting projects coming from Take-Two, but they won’t be shoving controllers into peoples’ faces.
"Both Rockstar Games and 2K have instead decided to focus their marketing and PR efforts on a series of events throughout the spring and summer. Our team, however, will be present at the show, and we look forward to seeing many of you there,” Slatoff said.
The group still loves the show, but really, having a big appearance “just didn’t make sense.” Instead of fretting Take-Two not making it, though, let’s just watch those GTA 5 character trailers again, shall we?
