In a bit of good news, it looks as if the downloadable fighters for NetherRealm’s Injustice: Gods Among Us will be making their presence known on the Wii U. However, while it is promising seeing the additional content actually arriving on Nintendo’s often-neglected console, players won’t be able to actually spend their money on the DLC until sometime this summer.
This comes directly from the game’s official Twitter account, which let its fans know that while some DLC has already made its way to the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, the wait will be a little longer for Nintendo’s dual-screen device.
“We expect DLC for the Wii U version of Injustice: Gods Among Us to be available this summer,” the account posted this morning. “Stay tuned for more details.”
Hopefully, “staying tuned” doesn’t mean “and now it’s all coming in the fall, instead!” So far, DC anti-hero, "The Main Man," Lobo has been added to the roster as a mid-to-close-ranged brawler who knows how to throw a few people around. He’s the first of four planned Season Pass editions that will help boost an already impressive roster, with the second announced character being Batgirl. The masked companion to the Dark Knight was first leaked via a convincing video of a player discovering her online, and has since been confirmed by (you guessed it) the game’s Twitter account.
Whether “summer” means next month or at the end of August, Wii U owners can expect to spend some virtual bucks on these super-powered fighters before too long.
