Ghost of a Tale Gets an Extension on its Indiegogo Deadline

May 9, 2013 by Jordan Erica Webber

This talented animator has crafted a beautiful game.

Ghost of a Tale, a beautiful third-person game in which you play as a mouse, has received an extension for its Indiegogo campaign. As the sole developer Seith (real name Lionel Gallat) points out in a recent update, Indiegogo never usually extends campaign deadlines; apparently, the powers that be wanted to give the game a better chance to succeed. Now (at the time of writing), Seith has twelve days to raise the remaining 16,500 Euro that will bring the campaign to its 45,000 Euro goal.

Ghost of a Tale is a stunning game, set in a medieval world that features beautiful environments. It's no wonder, either; Seith has worked as a supervising animator for both Dreamworks (The Prince of Egypt, The Road to El Dorado, Spirit, Sinbad, Shark Tale, and so on) and Universal Studios (Despicable Me and The Lorax) so he clearly knows what he's doing.

The story centres around a mouse that ends up on an island called Periclave, long known to be a disputed outpost for the Army of the Rats and now said to be haunted. The video for the alpha of the game shows the mouse running away from or occasionally fighting off ghostly rat skeletons. It'll also be able to pick up and use various items found throughout the world.

If Seith manages to raise the funds needed to let him continue work on the game, it should be available for PC in June 2014 (and potentially Linux and Mac at some point too, though he makes no promises).
