Dragon’s Crown Coming to PS3 and PS Vita August 6th

April 23, 2013 by Stephen Daly

2D RPG headed to North America this summer.

Atlus have today confirmed that Dragon's Crown is to get a Tuesday August 6th release date for PlayStation 3 and PS Vita in North America though a European launch has not yet been announced.

The game's Western release comes just two weeks after Dragon Crown's July 25th Japanese launch. The game will retail for $49.99 on PS3 and just $39.99 on PS Vita.

The long awaited 2D RPG from Vanillaware does not boast any cross-platform connectivity between the PS3 and PS Vita versions though there is a cross-save option. Dragon's Crown is a spiritual successor to 199's Sega Saturn title Princess Crown which was re-released on PSP in 2005, the game also borrows elements from Norse Mythology.

Dragon's Crown was first announced at E3 2011 by Ignition Entertainment before Atlus assumed publishing rights. Earlier this week a new gameplay trailer surfaced.
