Bethesda’s ‘Endless Summer’ Rated in Australia

April 23, 2013 by Stephen Daly

Are The Beach Boys getting a game?

An Australian rating has been discovered for a game entitled 'Endless Summer' and the filing points to Bethesda and parent company Zenimax Media the European branch of which applied for the rating.

Endless Summer has been given a 15+ rating and contains "Strong horror themes and violence" while a chart indicating the sensitive material in the game suggests there's also a degree of nudity and sexual content.

The title may be related to Bethesda's recently announced The Evil Within from Resident Evil creator Shinji Mikami. The Evil Within has not yet recieved a rating from the Australian Classification Board or it could be something unconnected.

A Bethesda representative told Joystiq that they would not comment on the listing.

Bethesda have announced that they've "moved on" from Skyrim while the company's marketing vice-president, Pete Hines, told Official Xbox Magazine UK that "I think you'll hear us making considerably more noise this year than we did last year, as a publisher. Obviously the Elder Scrolls Online is out and we've got the Dishonored DLC, but we will be announcing new stuff and making some noise, and I think when we get the chance to show you guys what we're up to, that you'll sit up and take notice."

Hopefully we'll know just what Endless Summer is before too long, it's not too long now until E3 where an announcement might be made. Endless Summer is also the name of The Beach Boy's 1974 album as Joystiq notes so there could be a connection there or, more likely, not.
