Use My Nintendo Gold Points When Purchasing Switch Games From The eShop

March 6, 2018 by Jordan Coetsee

Get discounts off purchases when using My Nintendo Gold points, from today!

Starting from today, those who own Nintendo Switches can now use My Nintendo Gold Points when purchasing digital games on the hybrid console.

Gold points is basically a cashback incentive for when you purchase a game. How it works is that you’ll receive 5% back on digital purchases and 1% back on games bought physically. Gold points will be applied on checkout on the eShop or on Nintendo’s website. 1 Gold Point amounts to 1 cent. So, if you pay $59.99 for a game on the eShop, you’ll earn 300 Gold Points, which can be $3.00 towards your next purchase.

Here’s how it’s going to work:

I mean sure, the discounts aren’t massive, but it’s still a decent incentive from Nintendo to give a little discount on new purchases or, essentially, a free cheaper game.

In other Switch news, Diablo III will not be coming to Nintendo Switch anytime soon.

‘Sorry crusaders and demon hunters, it looks like Blizzard’s Diablo III may not be launching on Nintendo Switch after all. A few days ago, the Blizzard Twitter account posted a short video that displayed a Diablo themed night lamp being switched on and off. Topped off with a “Sweet Dreams” caption, it was more than enough speculative fuel for some readers, who jumped to the hopeful conclusion that a Diablo III Switch port was on the say.’
