Black Ops 2: How to get the Hell’s Redeemer in Mob of the Dead

April 21, 2013 by Jacob Saylor

Youtube user typicalgamer divulges some very helpful information regarding Black Ops II.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 is the latest entry into the Call of Duty franchise, which has been noted for its stellar multiplayer modes and strong content. One of the more interesting facets of Treyarch's side of the deal is their 'Zombies' mode, where players can fight an endless horde of the living dead with their friends or strangers. This gameplay mode has proven itself to be a mainstay for the series, and has in many ways surpassed the single player portion of Black Ops games.

One of the more recent maps made available for download comes in the 'Uprising' pack. It's called 'Mob of the Dead' and forces the player(s) to navigate 'Alcatraz Island' in an attempt to simply live until the next level. Youtube user typicalgamer has released a video guide that shows how to attain the upgraded version of the 'Hell's Retriever' axe, which is called the 'Hell's Redeemer.'

First, you'll have to get the Hell's Retriever. Once you've accomplished this, make your way to the bridge and dispatch of thirty zombies – you may want to be past level fifteen, or this may not work. You will then hear a sound that denotes your ability to go and continue working towards the Hell's Redeemer.

At this point, you should throw your Hell's Retriever into the fiery pit inside the prison. If everything is going correctly, your thrown weapon slot should not spawn anymore tomahawks. Finish the round you are currently on, making your way into the prison towards the lethal thrown weapon pick-up spot.

You'll need to be in 'Afterlife' mode to pick up the Hell's Redeemer, but that's all that's left to do. If you've made your way too far into the prison, go back a bit and flip the switch on the control panel, which will put you in this purgatory-style state. Go and pick up the Hell's Redeemer and you're finished!
