Bravely Default: Flying Fairy Confirmed for US and Europe

April 17, 2013 by Ian Miles Cheong

The turn-based RPG is getting a localized release.

Bravely Default Flying Fairy

Bravely Default: Flying Fairy has just been confirmed for release in the West—that's the United States and Europe. Developed by Square Enix, the game is one of the most eagerly anticipated RPGs for the Nintendo 3DS.

The game has enjoyed a successful release in Japan, where it has been available since last October, and hints towards its localization have been reported over the past few months. Today's announcement finally confirms that English-speaking gamers will soon be able to experience the game.

It's a turn-based roleplaying game with what Nintendo describes as a "twist" in battles. Instead of attacking immediately during their rounds, players can choose to sacrifice their turn to build up their attack gauge and perform special attacks. The game boasts a host of wireless functionality, AR, and multiple endings.

In the European segment of today's Nintendo Direct, the game was confirmed as coming later this year, whereas players in North America will have to wait until early 2014 to pick up the game. Its publishing duties are being handled by Square Enix.
