Bethesda Has ‘Moved On’ From Skyrim, is Possibly Working on Fallout 4 or Skyrim 2

April 15, 2013 by Ian Miles Cheong

Bethesda states that its work with Skyrim is done and that the team is working on an all new adventure.

Bethesda has posted an interesting new update on its official Blog to state that the developers responsible for Fallout 3 and more recently, Skyrim, have begun work on an all new title. Though they're not yet ready to reveal what the game they're working on is about as of yet, the company assures that they will have something to show to the public within the next few months.

The post was written as a way to thank the gaming public for its support of Skyrim, which they had developed continuously since 2006. Since the game's release in 2011, Bethesda has been working on everything from game updates and DLC, including bringing that content to the PlayStation 3 version of the game.

"Even though we’re moving on [from Skyrim], we’ll still have minor updates to Skyrim as needed. We've invested so much of ourselves into Skyrim and will never truly say goodbye to it," reads the post.

"We loved hearing your stories, your in-game triumphs, and your suggestions. One thing stuck out to us through those emails, letters, and postings. And that is – video games matter. They’re as important to you as they are to us. It’s not just about entertainment, it’s about your time. And you chose to spend it with our game."

Given that they've chosen to "move on" from Skyrim, it goes without saying that the company has begun to work on an all new game that's very likely to grace the next-generation consoles and the PC.

Fans who've been hoping that they might add spears and other much-requested features for Skyrim may be a little disappointed in their decision to move on from the game, but their decision opens up all new possibilities, including the development of a sequel to Skyrim, or something like Fallout 4.
