Rayman Legends Delay Brings 30 New Levels

April 11, 2013 by Jordan Erica Webber

Fans will be rewarded for their patience with lots of extra content.

In an interview with Official Nintendo Magazine, Rayman creator Michael Ancel has said that he wasn't surprised by the fan reaction to the enforced delay of the Wii U version of Rayman Legends, which has been pushed back several months to release at the same time as the PS3 and 360 versions. The game was originally supposed to be a Wii U exclusive, so it's obvious why fans were angry at the decision to delay the completed game just so that it could be brought to more platforms. Ancel wasn't shocked at the fan reaction because he was just as upset as they were:

"No, I wasn't shocked, but it was really hard for us. Of course, there are more important issues and problems in the world but we worked really hard to make something and were so involved, it was difficult for us and the fans."

But Ancel and his colleague Michael Micholic have some good news that might make fans a little less furious. According to Micholic, the game isn't just lying dormant while the team finishes up the PS3 and 360 versions. No, when Rayman Legends does finally launch it'll have a whole bunch of extra content:

"Trust me, the things we are adding aren't minor. We're not talking about adding some polish here and there, but 30 new levels and several new bosses."

Rayman Legends was originally supposed to be a launch title for the Wii U (back in November last year), then it was supposed to launch on February 26 this year, but now it's due on September 28. Has the huge delay put you off? Does this news make things better?
