Splinter Cell: Blacklist Wii U Comes With Special GamePad Features

April 10, 2013 by Ian Miles Cheong

The Wii U version of Splinter Cell: Blacklist comes with a host of features unique to the platform.

Splinter Cell Blacklist

Ubisoft has confirmed that its upcoming game in the Splinter Cell series, Blacklist, will be headed to the Wii U in addition to the PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. The publisher announced today that it will be available in North America on the August 20, making it the first title in the series to land on the Wii U.

Players will once again take on the role of Sam Fisher, now leader of the 4th Echelon and America's secret weapon against rogue states.

In the Wii U edition of the game, players will be treated to what Ubisoft is calling "enhanced gameplay features" using the Wii U GamePad controller.

Players will be able to operate a variety of gadgets with the device, execute Killing in Motion to take out enemies and move through the environment, and switch between weapons on the fly. Other console versions of the game will have to do so through use of the D-Pad. For the Wii U, the GamePad will offer touch-screen controls along with motion-based inputs unique to the platform.
