EA Voted Worst Company in America for Second Year in a Row

April 9, 2013 by Stephen Daly

78% of final round voters thought EA was worse than Bank of America.

For a historic second year in a row EA have been given the dubious honour of being The Worst Company in America by a Consumerist Poll.

A staggering 78% of votes cast went to the game publisher ahead of its rival, Bank of America.

The poll's website reads "Following last year's surprise Worst Company in America victroy by Electronic Arts, there was hope that the videogame giant would get the message: Stop treating your customers like human piggy banks, and don't put out so many incomplete and/or broken game with the intent of getting your customers to pay extra for what they should have received in the first place. And yet, here we are again, with EA becoming the first company to ever win a second Golden Poo from Consumerist readers."

It's worth noting that people were able to vote as often as they liked and the competition was open internationally allowing those who may never have dealt with Bank of America but have purchased EA games to vote.

The vote followed the troubled launch of SimCity which struggled in the early days following its release to cope with server demand for the always online title and the resignation of CEO John Riccitiello at the end of last month.

Prospective replacement CEO and current COO Peter Moore recently promised that EA "can do better. We will do better."
