Tomb Raider Tops Pal PSN Charts for March

April 8, 2013 by Jordan Erica Webber

Despite launching close to the end of the month, BioShock Infinite makes it to fourth position.

Sony has published charts for digital sales in the PAL region during the month of March, and Tomb Raider has come out on top. Of course, the game is very good, good enough that it debuted at the top of the UK charts and stayed there for two weeks, but its sales on the PlayStation Store were probably helped by the fact that it was recently discounted to half price for a couple of days. And as Sony points out on the blog in which it reveals the charts, BioShock Infinite might have proven more of a competitor had it come out earlier in the month.

As it is, BioShock Infinite is number four in the chart for full PS3 game downloads, which is impressive for a game that was only available for purchase for the last few days of the month. Infinite comes in below Darksiders II, which has dropped to second from the first place position it held last month, and Dead Island, which has reentered the charts. Resident Evil 6 takes fifth place, followed by Grand Theft Auto IV, God of War Collection Volume II, Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time, Call of Duty: Black Ops II, and the original Darksiders.

A season pass of The Walking Dead tops out the chart for PSN games, followed by the ever-popular Journey and I am Alive. For PS Vita downloads, Urban Trial Freestyle wins out, followed by Ragnarok Odyssey and Persona 4 Golden. Sony even provides a chart for PS one and PS2 classics, and it's a pretty predictable sight: Grand Theft Auto San Andreas, Crash Bandicoot, Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, Crash Bandicoot 3 Warped, rinse and repeat.
