Robert Bowling’s Adventures of Dash Kickstarter Fails to Reach Target

April 5, 2013 by Stephen Daly

The studio will now focus on Human Element.

Robert Bowling, Infinity Ward's former community manager and founder Robotoki, has seen the studio's Kickstarter project for The Adventures of Dash fail to reach its target.

With just 496 backers the 2D platformer reached just $33,121 of its relatively modest goal of $400,000. Backers are entitled to a free download of the game's soundtrack.

In the final update on the game's Kickstarter page the studio wrote "We didn't make it to our goal but we gained nearly 500 friends along the way and that alone makes it all worth it!

"The Adventures of Dash has always been [a] passion project for us and because of YOUR support throught the last 30 days, we're even more passionate about it than we were when we started.

"We know we're not alone now in wanting to see this game come ot life, and while we're not entirely sure how we're going to make that happen right now, we are going to do everything we can to keep the game alive.

"We'll need to put it on the back burner for now, while we focus on our main project, Human Element, but we will be regrouping and exploring every option available to bring The Adventures of Dash to reality."

Human Element, a zombie-survival themed FPS, is due to be released on Ouya in 2015. While that game was successfully Kickstarted the failure of The Adventures of Dash campaign may suggest steam is running out of the crowd funding platform.
