Naughty Dog Have No Plans to Bring The Last of Us to PS4

March 26, 2013 by Stephen Daly

The Last of Us won’t be heading to Sony’s next console anytime soon.

Replying to a NeoGaf Thread Naughty Dog's community strategist, Arne Meyer, said the studio has no plans to bring forthcoming title, The Last of Us, to PlayStation 4.

"Not at this time," said Meyer, "we're focused on shipping for PS3 – thinking about how to bring this over to PS4 would distract us right now. IF that's something we can and choose to do, I suspect it would happen once we release the game."

While Meyer left open the possibility that The Last of Us will see a port to PS4 at some point it doesn't seem to be Naughty Dog's mind at the moment. The PS4 – which isn't compatible with PS3 games – will likely see The Last of Us made available via the Sony-owned cloud streaming service Gaikai sometime in the future.

The Last of Us is set to be released exclusively on PlayStation 3 on June 14th, during E3. The game will have the longest campaign of any Naughty Dog title at 12-16 hours in length though there are no plans for single-player DLC

Anyone looking to get early access to the game can play The Last of Us' demo if they have a copy of God of War: Ascension.
