Thomas Was Alone Coming to PSN on April 24

March 22, 2013 by Jordan Erica Webber

The game will be free for PlayStation Plus members.

Thomas Was Alone will come to PSN on April 24, developer Mike Bithell has revealed. He Tweeted the news a few minute ago, along with a link to a trailer for the Vita version, which looks like the perfect platform for the game:

Thomas Was Alone out April 24th on PSN, free for PS+ users. £5.99 as ever for game, and £1.99 for DLC youtube.com/watch?v=Qt0MHz…

— Mike Bithell (@mikeBithell) March 22, 2013

The trailer demonstrates some of the retro-styled levels of the platformer, with the brilliant music only interrupted by an example of the narration from the award-winning Danny Wallace. We also get to see the new DLC, which will be a timed exclusive on PSN, coming to PC and Mac “not ridiculously far off” according to Bithell. The DLC is called “Benjamin's Flight” and features the story of a new character called Benjamin, a green square with the power to fly in short bursts and what sound like father issues.

The DLC will cost £1.99, and the full game will cost £5.99 (the same price as it normally is on Steam). But PlayStation Plus members in the EU can download the game for free as soon as it launches on the 24th. The game also supports cross-buy, apparently thanks to a suggestion from Destructoid's Jim Sterling, which means you'll only have to buy it once to be able to play it on both PS3 and Vita. The base game will include commentary from Bithell, who says that'll involve “mainly apologising for staircase bits”.

If you haven't played Thomas Was Alone yet, this is a good opportunity to grab a copy, especially if you're a member of PlayStation Plus. Are you tempted?
