Introversion’s Prison Architect Hits Steam

March 20, 2013 by Stephen Daly

Name a prisoner, write his bio and be immortalised in the final version.

Prison Architect, Introversion's follow up to Darwinia and Uplink, has arrived on Steam and, as the name suggests, focuses on a jail and requires players to construct a penitentiray capable of housing numerous inmates across various cell blocks.

The game, which amassed more than $1 million in sales before even being released, has arrived on Valve's client in its Alpha stage of development and Introversion are offering those who pick up the game now free access to the Prison Architect upon its final release.

Those who qualify by purchasing the Alpha will also be given the chance to pre-order the game's art book and soundtrack or buy Introversion's entire back catalogue in a bundle.

"It's full of bugs and glitches and you're not going to get a polished experience," the game's Steam page warns, however, if you do pick up the title now you'll have access to "monthly updates which include new features and bug fixes."

Players will also be able to "immortalise yourself into the game, by naming a prisoner and writing his bio. Everyone that plays PA will see your bio and know that YOU helped to make Prison Architect a reality."

Introversion asks users to "tell us what you like and what you don't like and what you want us to work on" so that gamers can "help us direct the development process."

Players who purchase the Alpha version of the title can head over to www.prison-architect.com/register to join the game's community and provide feedback on the title.
