Duke Nukem is getting a new lease on life with the release of Duke Nukem 2 on the iOS, a remake of the original game on the PC—now with touch screen controls and cutting edge 256-color graphics.
For Duke's 20th anniversary, the game will be headed to the iOS for all devices, including the iPad, iPad Mini, iPhone, and iPod Touch. It'll cost you $1.99, a fraction of the price of the original Duke Nukem 2 way back in the day.
The game spans 32 levels and will feature new music and artwork in 256-color VGA graphics, so expect it to remain true to the original in spite of its enhancements.
"Before Duke Nukem 3D, before the sunglasses, before the one-liners, and before the strippers – many gamers never knew there was another incredible alien ass-kicking Duke game, a cutting-edge game for its time that still holds up 20 years later," said CEO and co-founder of 3D Realms, Scott Miller.
The remake is being handled by Interceptor Entertainment, which is also currently working on a full fledged HD remake of the 1994 FPS Rise of the Triad.
