Black Ops 2: A Guide On How To Run Faster

March 3, 2013 by Jacob Saylor

Youtube user Drift0r has released yet another enlightening video on the subject of Call of Duty: Black Ops 2.

Black Ops 2

Youtube user Drift0r, in his never-ending quest to educate the gaming public, has published yet another video explaining the ins-and-outs of one of gaming’s finest franchises: Call of Duty. In this particular video, he explains how the perks ‘Lightweight’ and ‘Extreme Conditioning’ work. Yes, we all know that they make you move faster and run longer, respectively… but how do they work under the hood?

Drift0r reveals that the Lightweight perk makes you move seven percent faster. This shouldn’t come as a surprise to most of you Black Ops 2 experts, right? Well, he’s also found that it only increases your movement speed from your base speed, which is set by the type of equipment/guns you are carrying. For instance, LMGs make you move at 90 percent the average move speed, which means that you would move at 97 percent speed with Lightweight equipped. Only the weapon you are currently using affects your movement speed. According to Drift0r, this counters the logic seen in all previous entries to the Call of Duty franchise.

Extreme Conditioning, as a perk, is pretty self-explanatory. If you equip and use this perk before your battles, you’ll be able to run far longer than if you didn’t have it equipped. Drift0r says he find that you can run about double the time that you could without it. He also notes that while in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 your recovery time from sprinting took longer if you repeated the act in succession, that in Black Ops 2 this is not a factor. The player can repeatedly run his character ragged, let him recoup for about five seconds, and keep on trucking.

There’s a lot more information to discern, so go check the video out below.
