Blacklight Retribution: Onslaught Co-Op Mode Released

February 27, 2013 by Ian Miles Cheong

Co-op comes to Blacklight Retribution.

Blacklight Retribution is celebrating its one year anniversary today with the release of free gifts for existing players and the launch of a massive expansion pack, Onslaught.

The new Onslaught pack sees the addition of an all new Onslaught mode (as is the pack's namesake), with four player co-op that pits players against waves of zombies and Order operatives. What are Order operatives? Who knows. They're the armed bad guys amidst the zombies who want you dead, so it's up to you to kill them before they can kill you.

The mode plays a lot like a Left 4 Dead with cooler weapons and a sci-fi look and feel. You can watch the trailer below to get a gist of the new mode.

The expansion also adds two new guns, the AK470 and the M4X; updated stat tracking and premium server options; maps designed specifically for Onslaught; and three new modes: Last Man Standing, Last Team Standing, and round-based, no respawn versions of TDM and Deathmatch.

Players (even new ones) who log in to the game this week will receive the free permanent gifts. Existing players will also receive a code in their e-mail to unlock some extra goodies.
