David Cage has told GamesIndustry International that he already has his next few projects after Beyond: Two Souls planned out. According to the interview, he estimates that he has “probably” his “next three games in mind”, even though Beyond: Two Souls isn't out yet and doesn't even have a confirmed release date. Cage told the site:
“Although I'm full speed on Beyond, I know what I'm doing after it because it's already in development, and I know what I'm doing after that and probably after that.”
Of course, Cage is an ideas man, for whom these things “come naturally”:
“I don't even need to think about it. It's just that this is how I work. I keep thinking all the time, all the time I'm working.”
Apparently, Cage has more ideas than he could possibly develop, which is news for you guys to take as you will. Given the high costs involved with making games as cinematic as Cage likes them, it's no wonder he'll never be able to get more than a few developed and published.
So what will these future games be like? Given the criticism Cage made of the industry and suggestions he provided, expect games with “meaning” and probably a few famous names involved.
One thing is almost certain, however: these three ideas he's mulling over right now will release on PS4 rather than PS3. After all, Cage's studio Quantic Dream has already registered a domain for a PS4 game called (or at least codenamed) Singularity. Think we'll see anything from the developer at the PS4 announcement next week?
